I didn’t know strength until I beheld him 
Standing there, alone, on that stage, 
his body filled with vigor to the brim. 
 
An artist of bulging sinew and angled limb 
Postured to accentuate muscle without wastage. 
I didn’t know strength until I beheld him 
 
lifting anvils and tree stumps on a whim

 with something more sinister was a grim 
moment where he pulled apart the bars of a cage, 
a strength none of us knew until we beheld him. 
 
Then, with eyes enthralled and breath slim 
Between our teeth, the Strongman’s rage 
Filled his vigorous body to the brim. 
 
Bejeweled nipples flashed across the dim 
Stage as he flew into a fury. He engaged 
A strength I had never known until I beheld him 
And the vigor that filled his body to the brim.
